Sealander Architects is owned by Robyn Sealander, AIA NCARB, and practices architecture chiefly in Eastern and Central Maine. Staff are licensed to practice architecture in Maine, New York and California. Our projects are both commercial and residential, with a majority of our work being for academic and other institutional clients along coastal Maine and the Bangor area.
The design backgrounds of senior staff include work on the east coast and west coast. This breadth of experience gives us the ability to think about our local projects within a national context.
We believe the considerable time we spend in programming- understanding our client and their project goals- pays off in allowing us to design quickly and effectively. As contractors are sometimes fond of saying, projects parts that are in the program do not get cut during value engineering. Parts that are not in, get cut.
We have been a Building Information Modeling office using Revit since 2005. In the past five years, we have deepened our use of parametric modeling and analysis tools into an integrated project approach that lets us be creative and analytical at the same time. We routinely incorporate daylight and energy analysis into our design process. Our project documentation is well-suited to construction manager-at-risk and design-bid-build deliveries.
